What does the weather have to do with anything?

Posted by Martin Pollmueller on 22nd Feb 2014

I'm writing this now that it's a little bit after the fact, but some of our U.S. orders have seen delays in delivery over the past six weeks or so, which in a couple of cases, were well beyond the usual variances that can occur. Because we use the postal service, there have been some extraordinary mail backups at the USPS because of weather disruptions across most of the Eastern U.S.. With thousands of flight cancellations ( and we ship by air), New York and Chicago post terminals have been the most problematic, and the USPS has been updating their website daily to keep everyone abreast of developments. We've been told that the situation should be back to normal in another week or so.

I'd like to thank those who have been the most affected for their understanding and kind words.

With spring quickly approaching, many of us are looking to taking our bikes out of hibernation. As the weather warms up, the days get longer and the sun starts to show itself again, we're getting busier by the week. Now is still a great time to order that special piece or do that makeover you've been thinking about. The popularity of color CF parts continues to grow (you have to see these parts to appreciate them ) but they are made on a custom basis and do take four weeks before they ship.

As a sidenote, the World Superbike series starts this weekend. For the second year in a row, most of us in North America will be deprived of being able to watch it as it is no longer carried by the Speed channel, but rather by BeIn Sports, a French channel specializing in European soccer, which isn't widely carried by our cable companies. While I enjoy MotoGP, the action in WSBK has always been closer and more exciting. Perhaps, if we all spoke out...
